Import Licensing: Notices to Importers 2010
Import Licensing arrangements for 2010
The following information is provided in relation to import licensing arrangements for 2010.
TEXTILE AND CLOTHING PRODUCTS:
China
There is no longer a licensing requirement for textiles and clothing products originating in China.
The double control surveillance system, which was in place, expired on 31 December 2008.
TEXTILES SUBJECT TO QUOTA RESTRICTIONS
- Belarus
The importation into the EU of textiles originating in Belarus falling under the following textile categories will continue to be subject to quantitative quotas and require an import licence:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 15, 20, 21, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 63, 73,115, 117, 118.
- North Korea
The importation into the EU of textiles originating in North Korea falling under the following textile categories will continue to be subject to quantitative quotas and require an import licence:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 31, 36, 37, 39, 59, 61, 68, 69, 70, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 83, 87, 109, 117, 118, 142, 151A, 151B and 161.
TEXTILES SUBJECT TO DOUBLE SURVEILLANCE
- Uzbekistan
The importation into the EU of textiles originating in Uzbekistan falling under the following textile categories will continue to be subject to double surveillance measures and require an import licence:
- 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 26.
OUTWARD PROCESSING TRADE FOR TEXTILES (OPT)
OPT arrangements for goods originating in Belarus will continue to apply in 2010. These arrangements will only apply to materials exported in 2010.
IRON & STEEL PRODUCTS:
The importation into the EU of certain iron and steel products originating in countries outside the EU are subject to either quantative restrictions, double surveillance or prior surveillance measures and require an import licence.
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE ORIGINATING IN BELARUS:
The importation into the EU of potassium chloride originating in Belarus is subject to anti-dumping measures and requires an import licence. The anti-dumping duty of 27.5% will apply if the annual quantitative ceiling of 700,000 tonnes is exceeded or to imports not covered by a valid import licence. The commodity codes concerned are:
- 3104 20 50 10, 3104 20 50 90 and 3104 20 90 00
