Tánaiste Mary Harney today (Monday 8th March, 1999) officiated at the opening of Software Architects International at the National Technological Park, Limerick.
SAI is a specialist company focused on cash management and electronic banking solutions. "The company's purpose built corporate headquarters here at the National Technological Park will accommodate the main Research and Development, sales and customer services centres. It will also support the company's network of offices in the UK (Surrey), Chicago and its new Sydney operation that will open shortly", the Tánaiste said at the opening.
SAI has had huge growth over the past year with turnover doubling and job numbers growing from 25 to 55 at present. "The company is going from strength to strength. I look forward to continued strong growth translating into better sales, exports and jobs growth", the Tánaiste said.
Speaking at the opening the Tánaiste remarked, "SAI's success to-date is an example of the "new bread" of Irish company, particularly in the software sector. These companies are managed by people who have a deep understanding of the key role of research, development and innovation. The partnership between Shannon Development and the University of Limerick has been instrumental in facilitating SAI on its road to success".
Mary Harney congratulated the company's promoters, Christopher Byrne and Richard O'Donnell, and wished them and their company every success for the future.
